About Us
Ophthalmology24 is an informational website and blog, a hub for preparing the next generation of ophthalmologists and eye surgeons for success.
How it Started...
Due to the unfortunate situation with Ukraine in early 2022, our initial mission was focused solely on helping eye health professionals from Ukraine relocate to Europe. We were slowly building a network of eye doctors willing to help other ophthalmologists and residents in these desperate times by offering temporary or long-term accommodation and/or transport.
The project was later picked up by the European Society of Ophthalmology (SOE), which reached out to join forces.

Current Mission
Meaningful progress in ophthalmology comes from sharing knowledge, supporting one another and giving back.
Our mission is to support young ophthalmologists in becoming confident clinicians, skilled surgeons, and independent thinkers. We know how complex and fragmented ophthalmology training can feel early in your career. Unclear pathways, limited access to hands-on experience, and a lack of transparency often make it difficult to know which next step truly matters. So we shifted the focus of Ophthalmology24 to make this journey clearer, more accessible and more transparent.
Beyond education, we see ourselves as part of a wider medical and human community. In previous initiatives, we have supported Ukrainian refugees and we have been involved in YO training and patient-focused initiatives. These efforts reflect our belief that medical expertise carries a responsibility. Not only to train better doctors, but also to contribute positively to society.
Ophthalmology24 exists to serve the community that shaped us. By empowering young ophthalmologists today, we aim to strengthen ophthalmology tomorrow: clinically, ethically, and socially.
